Northern Real Estate Urban Ventures (NREUV)
I started NREUV out of necessity. I saw the need to help community organizations develop their property and maintain control so that they would not be taken advantage of by seasoned developers. NREUV's work is grounded in collaborating with the community to help it achieve its goals in a holistic manner. We've participated in the development of over 7,500 units of housing and have underwritten approximately $4.5B in real estate development transactions.

NREUV Contracting and Mechanical is a contracting and mechanical company co-founded by Dr. Gina Merritt and Michael Karnes. Together they bring decades of HVAC technical experience, trade operational skills, and business savvy. NREUV Mechanical specializes in designing and installing HVAC systems for new and existing construction, serving affordable housing projects where General Contractors are required to meet socioeconomic goals. The company secured nearly $8M in contracts in its first year.

I grew up in affordable housing and it is my mission and passion to work on projects that truly make a difference in the community. PCC is an economic empowerment platform that leverages social capital to connect people in underserved communities with jobs and contracts. The Workforce Leverage database provides structured employment services through a collective impact model.
